近年來野生動物在新浮現人畜共通傳染病的重要性日漸增加，其中又以蝙蝠之狂犬病及lyssavirus感染症等疾病對我國社會民心之影響最劇。有鑑於澳洲在蝙蝠lyssavirus之研究經驗豐富，居世界領先地位，本所派遣兩位研究人員赴澳洲動物衛生國家實驗室研習（11月6日至21日）蝙蝠狂犬病病毒及lyssavirus診斷及監測技術，觀摩澳洲蝙蝠lyssavirus檢驗流程及實驗室生物安全防護

Rabies and lyssavirus infection in bats are important emerging zoonosis concerned. Two AHRI researchers were supported to go to Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) from Nov 6 to Nov 21 for bat lyssavirus surveillance and diagnosis techniques by this project.
