功能性基因的探討與應用
- 內容
Functional Genomics is to study not only function of each gene but the complexity of networks and control systems using an array of genomic, proteomic and in silico-based tools and technologies. Functional genomics allows us to understand the gene expression, splicing, genomic alterations, cellular responses, and phenotype in a living organism. Proteomics complements functional genomics, which facilitate our understandings in protein interactions, protein modifications and enzymatic activities. Bioinformatics is used to interpret the mass data generated from functional genomics and proteomics into a digital format; therefore, databases can be established and shared by the science community. All these data sets will be important for the development of system biology and further the information from the databases can be used to develop new vaccines and drugs.
